QuickStage Ltd is the new name for our established stage-hire and event-services business, previously called Soundstage and Events UK Ltd.
Please note that QuickStage Ltd is not connected with any products, systems or services known as Kwikstage.
The company has been registered and trading in the UK since 22 June 2023 under company number 14952911.
Our new name does not represent a change in ownership or management.
The company continues to be owned and managed by Richard Dodd, who has over 30 years of experience in live events as a radio broadcaster, host, MC and event organiser.
We are well known in our home city of Wolverhampton as a trusted supplier of mobile stage hire and complementary services, including professional sound, lighting, presenters, DJs and interactive games, now brought together under our QuickStage Plus service.
We are booked regularly by the City of Wolverhampton for multiple annual events.
We also provide stage hire and entertainment packages for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, including the Wolves Fan Zone, and many other valued customers.
QuickStage is also an approved supplier for Walsall Council and the City of Stoke-on-Trent.
Our name change, new website and branding are, first and foremost, to better represent and promote our core service: our flexible mobile stage integrated into a custom-built vehicle for fast deployment, or in other words, a “quick stage”
The name QuickStage also reflects the way we work.
We can often respond to short-notice enquiries, adapt the stage quickly for different events, and create custom branding and event packages without the time and complexity associated with conventional temporary stages.
Another reason for the name change is that we have now extended our core service area to include Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Coventry, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, and everywhere in between.
Other UK locations are available on request.
Our new name is designed to introduce our tried-and-trusted stage hire and related services to more city councils, event organisers, marketing and PR companies, and private clients across our new core service areas and across the UK.
QuickStage is a proven and adaptable mobile stage that can be ready for action within 30 minutes of arriving on site. It is highly cost-effective because only one team member is required to deliver and set it up for use.
Pre-prepared custom branding can also be fitted within minutes using our magnetic mounting system.
Another major benefit of this is that regular clients can reuse their branding multiple times, substantially reducing the costs of working with QuickStage on subsequent bookings.
Our mobile stage is popular because it provides a central focal point for events ranging from small gatherings to audiences of several thousand people, while remaining compact enough for tight locations.
Our mobile stage is popular because it provides a central focal point for events ranging from small gatherings to audiences of several thousand people, while remaining compact enough for restricted locations.
When opened, QuickStage provides 12 square metres of usable, covered stage space, measuring 3 metres wide by 4 metres deep. This is large enough to accommodate a small band, presenters, DJs, dancers, singers and other performers. The QuickStage vehicle is 3.2 metres high, and the stage height is 0.75 metres.
The fast set-up and take-down time of 30 minutes or less is also appreciated, especially at city and town centre events where road closures may be in place.
Last-minute changes to an event layout can also be accommodated. If a client decides that the stage needs to be relocated once on site, this may also be possible, subject to safe access and ground conditions.
The fast set-up and take-down time (30 minutes or less) is also appreciated, especially on city and town centre events where road closures may be in place.
We place health and safety at the top of our list.
QuickStage is maintained to a high standard, and during setup all necessary safety measures involving power, speaker cables and other equipment are carefully managed.
In the unlikely event that anything does go wrong, QuickStage Ltd maintains £10 million public liability insurance.
Risk assessments and method statements can also be provided where required.
If Wolverhampton had a Hollywood-style Walk of Fame, QuickStage founder and owner Richard Dodd would be on it.
The closest local equivalent is having a bus named after you, and Richard has that accolade.
In 2014, National Express West Midlands named one of its buses after him in recognition of 20 years in broadcasting, his charity work and his contribution to Wolverhampton.
After decades presenting the breakfast show on the now-closed Signal 107, Richard is one of the best-known people in Wolverhampton.
And, as the bus itself says, Richard genuinely supports Wolverhampton through his civic and charity work.
In fact, the closure of Signal 107 led Richard to purchase the mobile stage that would eventually become QuickStage.
The radio station had provided the stage for many major local events, but when Signal 107 was replaced by a networked radio service from London, that support was about to disappear.
Richard believed the stage would be missed, so he bought it from the radio station to ensure it could continue serving Wolverhampton and the surrounding area.
He was right.
QuickStage has continued to be a familiar sight at events across the city year-round.
That will continue, but we’re also ready to share Wolverhampton’s favourite outdoor stage with towns and cities further afield.
Our new name and website mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for QuickStage beyond Wolverhampton and the West Midlands.
Richard has challenged the QuickStage team to spread the word, and he is excited about this next chapter in the company’s development.
“When we began working with the designers of our new website, one of the biggest discoveries was just how much untapped potential QuickStage has.
I have worked with the stage for years, but seeing all the new ideas brought together made me realise how many different ways it could be used—and how many more towns and cities it could serve.”
It’s a fact: QuickStage has always been a practical, cost-effective and adaptable event stage.
Now, as we develop our new website, we’ve been thinking harder about what else QuickStage could do in the future.
This led directly to a new and innovative section of our website: QuickStage Concepts.
This is a collection of ideas developed by our team and, with AI assistance, we can demonstrate what may be possible moving forward.
Alongside our vast selection of photos and videos from past events and projects, QuickStage Concepts allows us to go a step further by helping clients visualise entirely new possibilities.
Commenting on the first wave of QuickStage Concepts, Richard is already looking forward to working with clients across the UK to bring some of these ideas into the real world:
“Clearly, the possibilities are endless. Some of my favourite ideas so far include turning QuickStage into a living billboard for products such as televisions, ice-cream makers or even beds.
I also love the idea of creating a mobile Santa’s Grotto, and I would be delighted to see that become a reality this Christmas. I will be auditioning to appear as a stand-in Santa if the real one is too busy.”
QuickStage is ready and waiting to be at the heart of events, celebrations and marketing projects across Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Coventry, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, and everywhere in between. .
